Course Description

Learn new ways of seeing people in relation to an architectural environment. This class is for students who want to create dynamic compositions and develop a heightened sensitivity to photographing people in various surroundings. Students investigate different perspectives of photographing people in the context of architectural spaces by concentrating on shape, line, movement, light, shadow, and color. Assignments, critiques, and the development of a personal project inspire students to identify and define their own voice. Class discussions include comparative study of historical and contemporary photographers and filmmakers, from documentary to conceptual. Students may work in digital or film, in any camera format.
