Course Description

Many contemporary wedding photographers, such as Thoss and Dolan, have become very successful by bringing their own artistic vision to their work. This class discusses the different approaches these and other photographers have taken, along with practical issues such as meeting the client, getting the assignment, and doing the job. The class reviews the stylistically diverse history of wedding photography and its early practitioners. Class critiques and discussions help students form and market their own unique approach. The class also covers alternative forms to the standard wedding album. Guests from the wedding field contribute to class discussions. PREREQUISITE: Photo III or portfolio review
