Course Description

This class will cover all facets of the long-term photographic project, from the choice of a subject, to the completion of a book, exhibition, or visual projection. The instructor will share selected stories, explain how she works, and talk about what she does with her stories. Her books will be available for comment, questions, and consultation. This class will cover all aspects of photographing in-depth, including problems encountered in approaching people with a camera, releases, and the editing process. Students will be given one assignment which will take place during class. Past work, and the assignment, will be critiqued and discussed. Final editing of the projects and a presentation of five to fifteen pictures per student and per subject will bring the workshop to a close. PREREQUISITE: Photo III or portfolio review
